10 years ago I started a Youtube channel called Direct Weather. As a content creator, I required high-quality, customizable digital maps to illustrate weather graphics for my audience. However, I found that there were no such maps available on the internet, and had to settle for low-quality, hard-to-work-with digital maps.

In 2023, I decided to take matters into my own hands and learned how to create my own high-quality, customizable digital maps from scratch. The process was long, hard, and required extreme levels of computing power to produce maps at 4k, 8k, and even 16k resolutions. Some upper-end computers would crash after hours of rendering a single layer.

After creating several maps for my personal use, I had an epiphany: Why weren't high-quality, customizable digital maps available for purchase when I needed them 10 years ago? Why hadn't anyone created a business around this concept yet? And if no one else was going to do it, why couldn't I?

So I decided to turn my expertise into a business. I invested in a top-of-the-line PC and got to work. Though it still takes hours to produce each map, I now have the tools to turn this into a successful business.
